Latest Cover

Okay, I needed something upbeat in my feed, so I thought I should share the rough cover I came up with this week for my "Uncrushed" novel-in-progress. The novel is mostly written, but I got stuck around the end and I just wanted another set of eyes to give me some feedback. So, I created an ebook for my beta reader. However, I like having something other than the generic placeholder cover that the program provides. Thus, the "Uncrushed" cover was born, and here it is.

Please note that this is just a cover concept for a rough draft ebook. In no way do I intend on making this the cover for when it's published for real. It's just something fun to do.

I have sketched out some covers before (see here for the covers of "Eyes on Natalie" and "Eyes for Benny") but this one uses a stock photo that I edited. I love the Pixabay and Pexels websites for free stock photos. Those sites are where I get almost all of my blog photos. Thank you to the wonderful artists and photographers that share their work through those sites.

I'm still awaiting feedback from my beta reader. The suspense is killing me. Maybe soon I'll finish writing the thing and then get into editing. Cross your fingers!

  1. That looks nice and fun. It's obvious it still needs reworking, but I like the concept so far.

    1. Thanks. I only create these covers for fun for my beta readers. I really hate the generic place-holder image from Scrivener so I had to make something else, anything else.

    2. It works perfectly for that! And I guess it's probably useful as a syarting point for a definitive cover.

    3. I'm so far from publishing right now, who know where the concept will go? For now, I love it.

  2. I love the concept. But I'm a pebble freak.

    1. I didn't know what I wanted, but I was searching on Pixabay and Pexels for something Valentine-esque. These pebble photos were so cute, I had to use them. I cut up two different photos to create this image.
